Shahi Korma or Korma Curry
Ingredients
- ½ Chicken
- 1½ chopped Onions
- 100g Butter
- 1 teaspoon Chopped Ginger
- 2 pods Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Madras Curry Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon Indian Mixed Spices
- 225ml Yoghurt
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
- 50g Desiccated Coconut
- Pinch Saffron soaked in a little water
- 225ml Milk
Method
- Take the skin off and cut the chicken into pieces.
- Fry the onions, garlic and ginger in 100g butter.
- Add all other ingredients except milk, coconut and meat and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.
- Add cut chicken and let it simmer for at least 10 minutes.
- Add milk and cook until chicken is tender.
- Add coconut and remove from heat.
- Serve it hot with fried rice, chappaties, nan or parathas.
Note: Any meat can be used for Korma Curry.
